Schedule an appointment with one of the organizations below to renew DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).
DACA was created in 2012 to give some undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children temporary protection from deportation and access to a work permit.
On September 13, 2023, a federal judge ruled that DACA is unlawful, but did not end the program. The decision is expected to be appealed and will likely reach the U.S. Supreme Court. This decision means there are no changes for DACA recipients at this time. Current DACA recipients will keep their protections and work permits, and DACA renewals will continue. Anyone who currently has DACA or who has had DACA in the past year is still eligible to renew. However, no first-time applications are being granted at this time.

The organizations below help DACA recipients apply for renewals. Consultations are generally low-cost or free and the application cost may be covered for San Franciscans.
